Lodging near Tufts:
There are two major hotels near campus that we usually use for guests to the University:
Hyatt Place Medford 116 Riverside Avenue Medford, MA 02155 Visitor rate $129-149 per night Complimentary shuttle to Tufts
Sheraton Commander 16 Garden Street Cambridge, MA 02138 Visitor rate: $169 - 259 per night Access via bus or Red line
If you like B&Bs there is Morrison House Bed and Breakfast in Davis Sq., a short walk from Tufts.
Tufts also has an excellent travel portal:
Visitors can click "Hotels and Lodging" from the left-hand menu and then click Medford/Somerville" for a list of all hotels in the area. Clicking on any hotel name on this page will bring the visitor to a brief description of the hotel in question, its address, and usually the Tufts visitor rate as well. There's lots of other information on the travel portal as well, including campus maps, parking maps, directions, information on shuttle service, and many other things.
Finally, here is the link where a visitor can request Tufts pricing for a hotel: All hotels are listed under "Preferred Hotel," so you can choose your preference. Visitors should be sure to note that the room will not be direct billed to Tufts when making their request.

Transportation
Tufts has a website with information about transportation here . Short description: Take the red line to Davis square and hop on the #94 or #96 bus toward Medford Square (ask the driver to drop you off at intersection between College and Boston Ave. Notice that on weekends the red line is replaced by a shuttle bus from Harvard Square to Davis Square. You can also take #96 from Harvard Square. If you decide to walk from Davis Square, Google maps has directions.
